Bloglet: Bird Watching

IMG_6291We had a visitor today–a female pheasant. This is the first time I have seen one of these birds in the neighborhood. I used to hear them when I gardened for a couple who lived out in the country and had restored prairie on their land. (I helped plant some of that prairie–flinging seed wildly while staggering back and forth across a freshly disked field like a drunken sailor. ) She paused every 10 yards or so to fluff her feathers. I surprised at how IMG_6289large she was–bigger than my little red chickens! I hope no hungry fox or coyote spots her. Begonia
